Q: How did you get into acting?
A: I was very blessed to have been approached by a casting director when I was a toddler. My mom and I were at the mall, and she gave my mom her business card. She thought I was cute enough to do “baby modeling” and my mom thought about it for a while. After much thinking, she decided to take a leap of faith and contact the casting director. After that, I started doing commercials and print ads, and the rest is history. Eventually, I was lucky enough to progress and book roles on TV and film.
Q: As a kid, did you ever dream of becoming an actress?
A: Since I started in the business as a kid i’ve always felt like it was a natural fit. I couldn’t picture myself doing anything else besides being an actress and a singer for the rest of my life.
Q: What is something about you that many people may not know?
A: I’m left-handed
Q: Do you have a motto that you live by?
A: My 2014 Motto is “Find A Way”. You’ve gotta find a way to do whatever it is you want to do!
Q: Any influences or people that inspired you?
A: My biggest influence I would have to say is my mother. She has been my biggest supporter when it comes to believing in my dreams and living the life that I want! Besides that, I am also inspired by all kinds of art since I am a huge art lover. Whether it’s in the form of film, music, dance or anything else I always appreciate art. I can find inspiration pretty much anywhere I go!
Q: As an actress, do you ever find it a challenge to reinvent yourself?
A: Not really because as an actress, your job is to portray different characters. By doing this, you’re in some way always “re-inventing” yourself. As a person, I’m always in search of bettering myself, and that is also in-directly “re-inventing” myself. Because I’m constantly growing and improving and I’m not the same “Andrea” that I was last year.
Q: Besides acting, what are other things you enjoy doing off camera?
A: Besides acting, I am also a singer. So I spend most of my time writing and recording songs when I’m not acting in front of the camera. I also love traveling as well as relaxing on the beach as much as I can.
Q: What are your future plans and endeavors for the rest of 20l4?
A: I’m working on a 2nd season of my web series, “Black Actress” and a new album! 🙂
