Credit Card: Adulting 101
Are of afraid of getting a credit card?. Or have you heard horror stories about people who end up in debt because of their credit cards? If so, continue to read as I talk to you all about my first time having a credit card.
My Impression & Thoughts
So a few days ago I received my first credit card in the mail. As someone like me who has never had a credit card, I was a little nervous and skeptical to get one in the first place. Mainly because I have heard countless stories about people who have maxed out their credit cards, or they get into debt because they do not pay their bill on time.
But after talking with one of my best friends about getting a credit card, I realized that part of being an adult is doing things you may not want to do. And since I plan on buying a house or a car in the future, I need to start establishing good credit as soon as possible. So with my friend’s recommendation, I ended up going with the Platinum Credit Card from Capital One. After signing up online and getting approved pretty quickly, my card was shipped out to my address. And about 5 to 7 business days later, I had my beautiful Capital One credit card.
Along with the Capital One app that I downloaded on my Samsung Galaxy S9 phone, I am now able to keep track of my purchases. As well as when my bill is due, so I am always when it is time to pay the bill. Also what makes this card great for beginners is the fact, there is no annual fee.
Don’t let your fear of credit cards stand in the way of building your credit. Just be sure to pay your bill on time. Even if you can not pay it all off in full, at least pay the minimum amount so you will not get stuck with a late fee. But most of all understand what you are getting yourself into, and keep track of your spending.
