I agree with you……understanding your hair -what product works best or not. Thanks for the enlightenment. Keep rocking natural, my fellow naturalista <3

Girl we are learning, I have made these same mistakes, I thought the gel was clutch and it wasn’t for my hair.

My hair is now responding to products differently as it gets longer but I realize, simple is best. I just wish I hadn’t spent hundreds of dollars buying things that didn’t work lbs

We all make these rookie mistakes in the beginning but it is a journey and one thing I’ve learned id that as our hair grows so do we.

Being natural is always a process of trial and error until you find your sweet spot. But once you do? It’s happy curls!! Good vid!

PREACH. Every time I try to go natural everything just does not go well, let’s just say that. I rely on braids/extensions to get me through life 🙂

I left a comment on your video but let me state how trims are so important. I got lazy last year on my trims and noticed in December that my hair was breaking off. 2017 is the year of protective styles and trims for me.

Going natural and staying so is indeed a challenge with all the messages we receive about using chemicals in our hair. Been natural for years myself.

I’ve never used the IC gel, I use the Eco styler. So far, I think it’s working fine. My hair is low porosity as well. Watching your video reinforces why I need to stay away from permanent colors. Lol!
