Society Does Not Determine Your Beauty

Society Does Not Determine Your Beauty

Society Does Not Determine Your Beauty

In a society that looks heavily upon physical appearance and beauty, sometimes it can be hard to feel accepted in this world. You start to doubt what you look like as if you are so much different from everyone else.  Because according to what you see in society and the media everyone else is perfect. Which sadly can make you start to wonder “Why can’t i be skinny like him or her” or “If i was shorter or taller everything would be so different”.

The problem is that, most of us spend too much time trying to compare ourselves to others instead of just  loving the person that we we’re meant to be.  You have to realize that the way God made you was no mistake and you are perfect just the way you are.  You also have to realize that the standards of beauty that you see reflected in society and the media are not always realistic.

This ideal of having  a quote on quote “the perfect body” is something that has made many people take drastic measures to alter their appearance. Whether it’s getting plastic surgery or trying to get as skinny as possible many people are just not content with themselves.  For many people who may not realize it, most of the celebrities that you see posed up on these magazine covers and stuff do not really look like this. In actuality, most of them are photoshopped to give this illusion of perfection. Because truth be told only about 5% percent of the people in the world have quote on quote “the perfect body”.

So no matter if you are skinny, tall, fat, or curvy always remember to embrace and embody that the person that you are.  Know that it’s not always what’s on the outside that counts, but more importantly it’s about how you feel about yourself on the inside. Because no matter how much makeup or stuff that you may put on, it’s not going to change how you feel on the inside. You have to know for yourself that you are a beautiful and confident person that deserves the best.  That you are you for a reason which makes you unique and special. Because when it all boils down to it you only get one body, so why not treat it right.

Well said! The standard of the world could easily jeopardize our cconfident about our own body. I like your closing sentence “Because when it all boils down to it you only get one body, so why not treat it right.”

You are absolutely right, we have to love the body that we are in because it is the only one we have. Society has a way of making us feel like less than if we don’t conform to the status quo.

Very great advice, it is so easy to be caught up in the way that the world sees us or making such unrealistic standards for ourselves when all we need to do is love ourselves first.

Well put. Our obsession with looking a certain way just because the media dictates that is what you have to do to be beautiful.

This is beautiful. I do think we should love ourselves and our bodies more. It’s difficult though with everything shoved in your face in the media. But definitely a cause worth talking about and bringing attention to 🙂

I tell people to love them for them. Someone else will always find something wrong with you.

Preach! You’ll only get one body in a lifetime so it isn’t worth living according to society’s standard. Live for yourself.

You are so right, we need to embrace ourselves and realise God made us just the way we are and each and everyone of us are completely amazing

I enjoyed reading this, and I wish every one, would just learn to love the body that they’ve been given.
